Share What you Love Swaps

One of the things I love about being a Stampin Up Demonstrator is being creative,  However, my creative style might not be something you like or want to create.  So, I'm always trilled to participate in SWAPS.  What is a Swap?  The one I particiapated in we were asked to create 21 of the same card for each group we wanted to be a part of - I was in 4 groups so I created 4 card designs and created 21 of each.  These cards were mailed to the host who seperates them so we receive 20 different cards back. I'll be sharing many of these with you in June.  I'm starting with some cards from the Share What You Love Suite.

This card was created by Lynn Feldkamp.
It's hard to see but this beautiful Designer Series Paper has a shimmer to it.

Make sure to check out my Facebook page also - more inspiration is being posted there.

Greeting Cards? Who buys them?

I recently read an article on the spruce.com about who buys Greeting cards

1.) More than7 billion greeting cards are purchased every year with the annual retail sales of greeting cards are estimated at more than $7.5 billion.
2.)Nine out of every ten households buy greeting cards each year.  (I need to research how many cards are created)  The average household buys thirty individual greeting cards a year.
3.)According to the Greeting Card Association, women account for eighty percent of greeting card sales. This means that four out of five purchases are going to be made by a woman. .
4.)When men buy cards they are likely to buy cards for special occasions and generally only for their partner and family.
5.)A greeting card can cost anything from 50 cents through to 10 dollars in a retail store. The average price of a greeting card falls between the $2 – $4 price band.
6.)The Greeting Card Association also reports that cards featuring special techniques, intricate designs, and new technologies are at the top of the price scale. This would suggest that handmade cards that feature lots of detail and unique designs should be able to command higher prices.
I have been doing craft shows for several years and I know that I do not ask enough for my cards, but I want them to brighten someone's day.  What was the last card you purchased?

How about a cute sample?  This card and cute treat bag made with the Pick a Pattern DSP.

Yes this paper is included in the Buy 3 Get 1 Free Special.  You can find this on page 188 of the Annual Catalog # 144163.

Painted Autumn DSP

Loving the crisp fall air here in PA.  Made for a perfect afternoon yesterday for a road trip adventure and found a new local winery that bottles a great Pumpkin Cider.  It was great chilled with my pulled pork BBQ from a local food truck, but had several people tell me it's great warm as well.  What is your favorite Hard Cider?
Returned home and started creating with the Painted Autumn DSP.  I love the colors and patterns in this paper.

This is one of the papers that are on Sale this month and can be found on page 49 of the Holiday Catalog (#144613).

Something the paper needs to be the focus of the card-
The paper is so beautiful it doesn't need covered up.
Just a simple stamped greeting and leaf from the Painted Harvest Stamp set - leaves are punched out with the leaf punch.

RemARKable Blog Tour-Designer Series Paper

Welcome to our October Edition of the RemARKabl Created Blog Tour!  Fall is defiantly in the air here on the east coast, days are getting shorter, air is getting cooler and I had to scrape frost off my windshield already!    Fall is a great time to craft and create- gather your friends and pull out some supplies and see what everyone creates.  During the month of October Stampin' Up is running an amazing sale- great time to stock up!

So many beautiful papers- ready to see some projects I created .....

This is the time of year that I do several Craft fairs, so it's time for some treats and giftables.

These wrapped Hershey Nuggets treats are always in demand- they make a great co-worker gift, stocking stuffer or treat for a friend.  It's also a great way to use up scraps from other projects.  The nuggets are wrapped with a 1" x 3" piece of DSP and placed in a cello bag with a cardstock topper (3" x "3 folded in half- stamped and deorated).  Just use a stapler to attach the topper to the bag.  Quick and Easy and who doesn't like chocolate!

I really love the Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper  and it was in my DSP order this month!

Here is another treat I'm creating for the craft fairs.

Combined  the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamped Images with the Candy Cane Lane DSP- they ar bright and cheery!

These treats have a snack size Hershey bar in them.  A piece of cardstock cut at 3 1/2" X 7 1/2" and scored @ 1/4", 1 5/8", 2 7/8", & 3 1/4".  DSP  cut at 1" x 3 1/4"  & 3 x 3 1/4".   Round the corners of the top of the cardstock and the top of the larger DSP piece ,  Adhere the DSP fold and adhere-insert treat add the punched stamped image!

One more project -

I'm always making lists and jotting down notes and reminders- so I covered Composition notebooks with our beautiful Floral Boutique DSP, a stamped image, some matching washi tape and a bakers' twine bow.

Couldn't stop at just one!

Hope you get inspired to create with these beautiful Designer Series Papers- and don't forget they are buy 3 get 1 free till the end of this month!

Thanks for stopping by - if you enjoyed my projects leave a comment and feel free to pin them to pinterest!

Blessings, Missy

Next stop Connie- looking forward to seeing what she has created!
